FIELD GUIDE · 12 CHECKS

AI search readiness
before the dashboard.

A tracker can tell you whether a brand appeared in sampled answers. It cannot repair the page that an answer engine could not access, understand, trust, or quote. Start here.

01

Access

  1. 1

    Return useful HTML

Load the page without relying on a click, login, or long client-side render. The core answer should appear in the HTML response.

  2. 2

    Check crawler directives

Review robots.txt, page-level robots tags, canonical URLs, and HTTP status codes. A blocked or duplicated page cannot become a dependable source.

  3. 3

    Keep discovery paths current

Include important pages in a clean sitemap and link to them from relevant navigation or hub pages.

02

Entity clarity

  1. 4

    Name the thing

State the company, product, service, audience, and category in plain language near the top of the page.

  2. 5

    Keep facts consistent

Use the same name, description, location, price, and contact information across the site and authoritative profiles.

  3. 6

    Add page-relevant structured data

Describe the entity that is actually visible on the page. Do not add schema for claims or content users cannot see.

03

Answers and evidence

  1. 7

    Lead with a complete answer

Before persuasion, give the buyer a sentence that resolves the question: what it is, who it is for, and the relevant constraint or price.

  2. 8

    Make proof crawlable

Put sources, methods, dates, authors, case details, and limitations in text—not only in images, video, or sales calls.

  3. 9

    Use question-led sections

Organize pages around real buyer questions. Each section should still make sense if quoted independently.

04

Measurement

  1. 10

    Define buyer prompts

Track 20–30 questions that real prospects ask, grouped by intent. Avoid generic prompts that would never lead to a purchase.

  2. 11

    Record sources, not just mentions

For each sampled answer, capture the engine, timestamp, named brands, cited URLs, and sentiment.

  3. 12

    Separate engines and runs

Do not hide unstable outputs inside one blended score. Compare like with like and repeat samples before claiming movement.
