SoftwareApplication
schema generator.

Create copy-ready JSON-LD for a SaaS product or app. The generator distinguishes descriptive Schema.org markup from Google rich-result eligibility, so a missing review never becomes a made-up one.

BUILD THE MARKUP

Describe the real app.

Everything stays in this browser tab. AnswerReady does not send or store these field values.

Use the public page whose visible content matches this markup.
Use 0 when the application is free.
Three-letter ISO code, such as USD.
Optional genuine aggregate rating

Only add a rating that is visible on the marked-up page and supported by real reviews. Never create one for eligibility.

Schema.org markup ready; Google rating still absent

This is useful descriptive JSON-LD, but Google documents a genuine rating or review as required for its software-app rich result.

<script type="application/ld+json">
{
  "@context": "https://schema.org",
  "@type": "SoftwareApplication",
  "name": "Example SaaS",
  "url": "https://example.com/",
  "description": "A concise description of what the application does and who it serves.",
  "applicationCategory": "BusinessApplication",
  "operatingSystem": "Any (web browser)",
  "offers": {
    "@type": "Offer",
    "price": 0,
    "priceCurrency": "USD"
  }
}
</script>

THE SHORT ANSWER

What belongs in
SoftwareApplication schema?

Describe the same application a visitor can see on the page: its name, canonical URL, concise description, category, supported operating system, and real offer price. For Google’s software-app enhancement, the current documentation also requires a genuine review or aggregate rating.

PUBLISH IN THREE STEPS

Generate, place, test.

  1. 01
    Match the page

    Keep every generated claim consistent with visible content. Structured data should clarify a page, not add hidden claims.

  2. 02
    Add the snippet

    Place the JSON-LD script in the page head or body. Google recommends JSON-LD when it fits the site setup.

  3. 03
    Validate and monitor

    Run Google’s Rich Results Test, publish, then inspect the URL and watch Search Console for errors.

PRIMARY SOURCES

Rules, not folklore.

DO NOT INVENT PROOF

No real reviews? Leave the rating out.

The result can still describe the software with Schema.org vocabulary, but it will not contain all of Google’s documented required fields for a software-app rich result. Accurate incomplete markup is safer than a fabricated rating, and rich-result display is never guaranteed.
